Everstand Receives $15,000 Grant From the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation to Support Therapeutic Drum Circle and Parent Support Group
PASADENA, Md. — Everstand has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation to support its Therapeutic Drum Circle music therapy and Parent Support Group at Everstand’s Outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Pasadena.
The grant will directly fund trauma-informed programming that promotes emotional regulation, healing, and connection for individuals and families receiving outpatient mental health services. Through therapeutic rhythm and guided group support, these programs provide safe, expressive spaces that strengthen resilience and foster a sense of community.
“The collaboration between Everstand and the Giese Foundation is cultivating meaningful change by providing safety, education, and connection through therapeutic drum circles and parent support groups that strengthen families and communities.” — Bradley Spoon, LCPC, CCTP Clinical Supervisor OMHC/RNP at Everstand
The Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation has been a longstanding supporter of this work, helping sustain and grow programming that addresses the needs of both clients and caregivers. Their continued investment has played a critical role in maintaining momentum and expanding access to these services.
Everstand’s Therapeutic Drum Circle uses music therapy to support emotional expression and self-regulation, while the Parent Support Group offers caregivers an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and build supportive networks alongside others navigating similar challenges.
“Everstand has been a blessing to families we love, especially those welcoming children home through foster care. We have watched these children grow stronger through the steady, compassionate guidance of therapists who understand trauma and walk alongside parents.
Our family is grateful for Everstand’s heart for healing and the way their work reflects hope in action. We are pleased to support their mission as they expand to reach even more families across the County.” — Kathy Wiles, daughter of Brian Giese
Everstand is deeply grateful to the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation for their belief in this work and their commitment to strengthening mental health support for families in the community.
